Sunday.

7am.

We woke up early and started driving towards the end of Florianopolis, literally the southernmost point of the island. Once there, we parked and walked to the trail that leads to Naufragados beach. (The other option is to go by boat.) The trail starts at the end of one of the parking lots and the entrance is signaled by a flag.

This was my first time hiking and it was way more difficult than I expected. So I thought it would be nice to share some tips that I've learned along the way:

● First, hike does not mean walking in nature (as I thought), the best meaning would be:

Hike

1 Walk or run to not fall behind, depending on your case. 2 The act of skipping rocks, climbing rocks and sometimes even falling on top of rocks. 3 Walk taking great care not to slip on mud or worse.

Anyway, go hiking requires a lot of physical exercise but it is totally worth it! The feeling of reaching the destination is great and when you take your time and seat it's even better 😜

● I recommend not go hiking if it rained the day before and it is very important to take plenty of water and food with you! And don't forget the sunscream.

The trail to Naufragados took about 50 minutes and the track is into the forest so it's not so hot. The path is beautiful. The beach itself is not a big deal. It's much more crowded than I expected. There's even a restaurant there (btw they don't accept credit cards). The cool thing about this beach is the lighthouse and to get there you have to face another 10 minutes of hike but now the track is on top of a hill so the cloudy weather helped. From up there you have a beautiful view of the beach!

The lighthouse itself is small but it was set up a "lookout" which is actually a wooden structure that could fall at any time with half a ladder to climb, but the view from up there is beautiful! You can see the ruins of a fort and the sea!

After visiting the lighthouse, we stayed in the beach for a while and swan but the sea was rough so be carefull.

After leaving Naufragados we went to a restaurant called Empório do Mar in Ribeirão da ilha. It was very good! This was the gorgeous view:

And when the adventure seemed to be coming to an end, we were invited to visit a waterfall on the beach of Solidão. Until then I had never gotten into a waterfall and this was one of the items on my bucket list. And even though it was not in our plans this ended up being the best decision we took. Because sometimes dreams require money and planning but sometimes they just need to hear a "yes"!

Then, after another short trail to the waterfall all the hard work was worth it! The waterfall was beautiful and the water was very cold. Surrounded by Atlantic forest this natural pool is very deep and it has clear water. It was pretty busy, so I could not take many pictures however I manage to make this gif:

I hope you like this post!
